Tonight, celebrate the arts at Arcata – Times-Standard

Arts Arcata – the monthly visual and performing arts celebration on Arcata Main Street – is held tonight from 4pm to 8pm at various locations across Arcata.

Participating venues in December include:

• Arcata Main Street: Wine Chocolate & Cheese event from 6pm to 8pm in the back parking lot of Jacobys Storehouse and a night market in the plaza from 4pm to 8pm with local artists and music from Santamonium and the Jacoby Creek School Choir.

• Arcata Artisans Gallery, 883 H St .: The annual “group exhibition” shows a work by each of the 24 artist members. Various media are on display, including jewelry, photography, fiber art, painting, glass casting, ceramics, glass painting, metalwork, printmaking and woodwork.

• Arcata Gallery, 1063 H St .: Live painting with Joe Mallory and Butterfly Guts vending machines.

• Cafe Brio, 791 G Str .: Photograph by Serge Scherbatskoy. Reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• Infuzions 863 H St .: Work by Amber Zaztrow from Savage Succulents Garden and special holiday surprises such as live music, tea and terpenes.

• Moonrise Herbs, 826 G St .: tile art by Marley Goldman and landscape photography by Peggy Ho, along with warm, tangy cider made with Moonrise’s own mulled spices.

• The Garden Gate, 905 H St .: painting by Augustus Clark.

• The Griffin, 937 10th Street, painting by Joyce Jonte.

• Plaza Grill, third floor, Jacoby’s Storehouse: Jay Brown’s representational works on paper

• Jay Brown Art & Design Studio, second floor, Jacobys Storehouse: “Drive to Abstraction”, current mixed media works on paper by Jay Brown.

• Traci Day State Farm Insurance, 692 14th Street, Christmas letter box post box available outside of the office throughout December. All letters are returned from the North Pole with a special surprise.
